    • Time best suited for activation of inactive THCA: 10-25 minutes (longer times may start to break down THC to metabolite CBN

  • Gives off CO2

Will re-heating par-baked crusts decrease potency?

Theoretically, the THC potency within this ideal environment (crusts with their inherent ph and temp and times typically required) should increase – the only chance for decrease of potency is for THC to degrade to its metabolite (called CBN); however, this generally starts taking place when heating for longer periods of time (like more than an hour) or at much higher temps – either way, the pizza by then would be burnt toast – and even then, there is generally thought to be a fairly even trade-off of further converting THCA to THC in the infused oil vs THC degrading to CBN in the infused oil.

As the popularity of pizza is generally unparalleled, this makes the pizza crust even more desirable as the ideal THC/marijuana food delivery/edible product; especially as:

  • Annual U.S. pizza sales revenue is $32B
  • The total number of pizzerias in the U.S. is 70,000
  • The total number of pizzas sold annually in the U.S. is 3 billion
  • The percentage of Americans that eat at least one slice of pizza in a month is greater than 93%.

Furthermore, there is no uniform way to best convert THCa to THC (and CBDa to CDB; as well as CBCa to CBC) to optimal levels; or to any specified level for that matter.  The result of which is that there is always some extra THCa in your edible that could use some extra gentle heating.
